Privacy Policy

Verbal turns a spoken description of a job into a written, priced quote. This policy explains what the app collects, where it goes, and how to get rid of it.
If anything here is unclear, email gio.giorgigiorgadze20@gmail.com.
Your voice never leaves your phone
When you record a job, the audio is transcribed on your device, using Apple's built-in speech recognition. The recording itself is never uploaded and never saved — not to our servers, not anywhere. It exists only in memory while you are speaking, and is gone when you stop.
What does leave your phone is the text of what you said. That transcript is needed to build the quote, and is saved alongside the quote so you can view it later or generate the quote again.
What we collect
Your account. When you sign in with Google we receive your email address, name, and profile picture URL. We never see or store your Google password.
Your business details. Whatever you enter in your profile: business name, phone, email, address, and tax or VAT number. These print on the quotes you send, which is their only purpose.
Your rate card. The names, units, and prices of the work and materials you save.
Your quotes. Job titles and summaries, scope, line items, quantities, prices, tax rates, totals, validity dates, status, and the transcript each quote was built from.
Your customers' details. If you add a client to a quote, we store the name and any phone, email, address, or notes you enter. See Information about your customers below.
Usage records. Each time a quote is generated we record your user ID, the AI model used, how many tokens it consumed, what it cost, how long it took, and whether it succeeded. This is how we keep the service running within its limits and understand what it costs to operate. It contains no part of your transcript or quote.
On your device only. Your currency preference, whether you have seen the intro, a cached table of exchange rates, and your sign-in token. These stay on your phone and are removed when you delete the app.
What we do not collect
Verbal contains no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. There is no third-party analytics SDK in the app. We do not use the advertising identifier, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not build a profile of you or sell data to anyone.
Who else handles your data
We use a small number of services to run the app. Each one only receives what it needs.
| Service | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Everything stored in your account | Hosts our database and sign-in |
| OpenAI | Your transcript, your rate card, and your currency code | Turns what you said into a structured quote |
| Your sign-in request | Authenticates you | |
| Frankfurter | A pair of currency codes | Daily exchange rates for converting a quote |
| Apple | Nothing from your account | On-device transcription; review prompts |
A note on OpenAI: your transcript and saved rates are sent to OpenAI's API to build the quote. OpenAI states that data submitted through its API is not used to train its models. We do not send your name, email, business details, or customer details with it.
A note on Frankfurter: exchange-rate lookups contain only currency codes (for example, GBP to EUR). Nothing about you or your quote is included.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in Seoul, South Korea
(ap-northeast-2). If you are located elsewhere — including the UK or the
European Economic Area — your information is transferred to and stored in South
Korea. OpenAI processes transcripts in the United States.
How long we keep it
Your data stays for as long as your account exists. There is no automatic expiry — a quote from two years ago is still there, because you may still need it.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account.
This permanently removes your profile, business details, rate card, customers, quotes, line items, and every transcript. It is immediate and cannot be undone.
One thing survives: if you tell us why you are leaving, that reason is kept to help us improve the app. It is stored with no link to you, your account, or anything you wrote — it cannot be traced back.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it. Deletion is built into the app and takes effect immediately; for anything else, email gio.giorgigiorgadze20@gmail.com.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict how we use your data, to receive it in a portable format, or to complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Information about your customers
Verbal is a tool for quoting work, so you will often store details about your own clients — their name, and sometimes a phone number, email, or address.
That information is yours, and you are responsible for it. We store and process it only to provide the app to you: it is never used for our own purposes, never shared with anyone beyond the services listed above, and never sent to OpenAI. When you delete a quote, or your account, that customer data is deleted with it.
If you operate in the UK or EU, you are the data controller for your customers' information and Verbal acts as your processor.
Children
Verbal is a tool for working tradespeople and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top and note the change in the app's release notes.
